The Meteorological Authority Office resides in the Organisational Resilience Program and represents the Bureau as the designated Meteorological Authority for Australia and assists the Director of Meteorology in the approval of automatic weather observing systems for the purpose of civil aviation safety regulations.
The Meteorological Instrumentation Technical Advisor is an important and challenging role that coordinates the aviation regulation and compliance activities for the Meteorological Authority Office. This includes the delivery of compliance activities including audits, issues management, and customer engagement. The successful candidate will apply a risk-based approach to the development of compliance audit priorities and provide strategic and operational guidance to ensure execution of all compliance activities.
They will represent the Bureau in a variety of inter-departmental, national, and international conferences and committees. Using excellent interpersonal and strategic management skills they will work to ensure alignment between team and program activities. In addition to possessing sound technical skills, the Meteorological Instrumentation Technical Advisor will have strong management and planning skills. They will have a proven track record of engagement with a diverse range of customers and demonstrate a strong commitment to leading by example and building a shared sense of purpose and direction in a cohesive and high performing team.
