Hi, I'm Jeremias and I support our IT teams as a Chapter Lead in their self-organisation, development and delivery of stable, high-quality software. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join one of our Scrum teams, who would ensure our software runs smoothly and would pay attention to detail from conception to operation. Your future team takes care of maintenance, feature development and step-by-step migration to a more modern stack of several distributed components.
A particular challenge is the analysis of complex problems and their fix in partly older Java code. If you are thrilled by detective work like a software archaeologist and want to surf the legacy wave in the direction of the Cloud together with the team, you are the dev we are looking for. !
You'll be a part of the team of professionals that embraces Scrum values and appreciative communication and feels responsible for promises made to stakeholders as well as code quality.
Your role
- You’ll be a part of an independent Scrum team and discuss and work on functional components from the user interface to the database
- You’ll analyse complex business contexts and can translate them into business-driven code
- You’ll communicate with software developers as well as with stakeholders on an equal footing
- You’ll primarily develop in the Java ecosystem, but you’re also interested in alternatives and how to use them profitably
- You’ll ensure the smooth operation of our software together with your team
- You’ll actively contribute to the team and can advance topics as a team player
Your qualifications
- You’ve already written excellent software and understand your craft
- You’re familiar with the JVM memory model and already have good experience with it
- You’re willing to dive into analysis and debugging and are able to explain complex problems in an understandable way
- You enjoy developing yourself and sharing your experience with the colleagues
- You ideally have hands-on experience with developing distributed, highly-scalable systems and with RMI and REST APIs
- You’ve a boy scout attitude when it comes to legacy code
